It’s Clown Day In Park City, Utah!


This time of year in Park City, Utah is fantastic!  Warmer spring temperatures are creeping in to the weather forecast, sunny days are abundant, but there is always a chance for a few more spring snowstorms to brush by our mountains.  As a matter of fact, a spring storm is headed our way for April 1st – so don’t put those skis away quite yet!  There is still plenty of fun to be had slope side as the ski season winds down and we prepare for another beautiful summer in Park City!

This Sunday, April 1st, will be marked by Park City Mountain Resort’s annual Clown Day festivities!  Dress as a clown, or in any costume you like, and hit the slopes with all the other “clowns”!  It’s a day full of spring-time fun, and a time to let loose a little and celebrate the changing of the seasons.  After your done getting your Bozo on, head on over to either the Corner Store or Pig Pen for a burger and your favorite beverage.  The Corner Store will have live music and drink specials as will Pig Pen!  Visit www.parkcitymountainresort.com for further details.

Spring Skiing Park City Mountain Resort

If you’re looking for some evening entertainment, you absolutely need to take advantage of the Park City Film Series offering of The Artist, running March 30th through April 4thWinner of numerous Oscars, including Best Picture, it has been touted the most unique film of the year.  The film begins in 1927, the glamorous silent film era of Hollywood and details the story of a silent movie star and his vivacious extra.  However, change is on the horizon as the new film technology begins to move in and the silent film stars of the past have a tough time coping.  This funny, heartwarming and crowd-pleasing story of the film star and his love interest, the extra will be playing on Friday and Saturday at 8PM, and Sunday at 6PM.  More information can be found at www.parkcityfilmseries.com .

Interested in doing something really different off the slopes?  The Park City Gun Club recently opened its doors in the Park City Business Center, and its range is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday year round.  Although annual memberships are available, interested parties can go check out and try the range as well.  The Club offers a safe and exciting shooting experience, with a few different ranges to choose from.  They have a standard range, a live fire simulator, and a simulator room with lasers!  They have every bit of equipment you might need to rent available at the club, including safety gear, for a reasonable price, and they allow you to try an assortment of guns.  The Gun Club offers training and classes as well.  Certainly a unique off-mountain experience and one offered in a safe, well-staffed environment.  Visit www.parkcitygunclub.com for hours and rental information.

Our visitors are always asking where to eat while in Park City, and the choices are almost endless!  If you’re looking for a more casual, inexpensive alternative to the fine dining choices lining Main Street, you should absolutely have lunch or dinner at the locals’ favorite Mexican joint – Chubasco Mexican Grill.  A fun, social atmosphere awaits you upon entering the restaurant, and the first thing you’ll notice is their amazing salsa bar lined with homemade salsa choices to adorn your meal and chips with.  The menu is on the wall behind the counter, and the staff is happy to make suggestions.  Their burritos are delicious, and enormous!  The selections are varied, and one more delicious than the next.  They do have beer available as well for those diners wanting to throw back a cold Mexican beer to cool their palate!  Chubasco Mexican Grill is located at 1890 Bonanza Drive, and is open Monday-Sunday.  Visit www.elchubascomexicangrill.com to take a look at their menu.  Ole!
