Park City International Music Festival

The park City International Music Festival can trace its history to 1983 when Leslie Harlow came to this vacation destination for a ski vacation and promised herself she would settle here after her graduation. Even though she never came in immediately because she had to attend a Juilliard orchestra Tour in Europe in 1984 she finally moved in to settle at the place her heart loved to call home. She is feted with having organized the very first Deer Valley Summer Concert which went by the name Deer Valley Chamber Music Festival. This was done along with some other professional artists such as Jeffrey Solow and Michael Gurt.

The Kimball Arts Center has been the home for many Utah Music Festivals and they are organized under the umbrella of the Park City Chamber Music Society. This has been one of the highlights of the lots of action that takes place during summers that you can attend and meet face to face with lots of celebrities. This has finally become an event that many people look forward to because the amount of live music available in Park City during any one time is simply prodigious. The number of Utah Music Festivals and concerts are varied and you can have your choice as far as the choice of music in concerned.

There are places such as the Gallivan Center which is to be found in the heart of downtown Park City where guests get treated to a great deal of modern music that is performed in the outdoors. Wednesdays and Thursdays are special nights where concerts are conducted and one can also not miss some live evening opera arias on every first Saturday night after Labor Day. The other one part of the Deer Valley Concerts you will not want to miss during the summer months is the Utah Festival Opera that takes place at the Logan Center in Utah. This is one of those of Utah Music festivals that are performed by fully professional operas and it is done in a completely intimate performing arts center which was converted from being a movie theatre and vaudeville hall. This action runs from mid July to Mid August. June, July and August are completely musical months at the Logan including the Old Lyric Repertory Theatre where you will have plenty of musicals as well as other theatrical productions.
